Summer Steam Gala - Keighley and Worth Valley Railway part ONE

Saturday 27th June - great day, not just for the sun but we went (once again) to Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. It's a fab preserved railway - friendly, well-run and lots to see (including Haworth village)

Today was the KWVR's Summer Steam Gala and with a "Day Rover" which allows unlimited trips and some great stations - you can even Entrain (get on!!!) and Detrain (get off!!!!) as many times as you wish. KWVR runs from Oxenhope to Keithley through Haworth and Keighley. Really pretty stations - Oakworth was used in the "The Railway Children", museums, shops etc. Try it http://www.kwvr.co.uk/

Had a 1940's red bus trip from Haworth to Oxenhope through Bronte country and a few trips up n down the line. Lot's of caffeine and cheese butties!! And then off to the evening trip to Ribble Head Viaduct behind Leander 5690 "The Jubilee Class" - an experience!
